In sessions, steps we might typically focus on include:
- Gaining clarity about your situation - your past, the present, what is important to you for the future and the changes you want to make going forward.
- Identifying and overcoming tendencies to get caught up in patterns of thinking that may be having a negative impact on you and affecting your ability to deal with problems.
- Identifying and overcoming the influence of past experiences that may be making you more vulnerable to problems now.
- Working through and resolving difficult feelings about your experiences.
- Overcoming unwanted habits, behaviours or compulsions.
- Taking action to create positive change when this feels difficult.
- Developing a long-term plan to support your well-being, navigate difficulties and help you overcome problems and challenges.
